The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket

"Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it isn't so"
                                                                         -The Bad Beginning

When the Baudelaire orphans' house burns down all hope is lost, along with their parents. They are sent to live with Count Olaf. He is an actor, and his actions show it. This distant relative is obviously not fit to raise kids.
Olaf discovers that he can legally obtain the Baudelaire fortune if he marries Violet, the oldest of the orphans. He creates a plan to trick an audience into watching a "play" where he marries Violet. Will the plan work? Can Count pull this off, or can these kids trick the ultimate master of decisis?

Athena the Brain by Joan Holub & Suzanne Williams

I love Greek mythology! This book is a modern spin on classic tale. Athena is the goddess of wisdom, when she moves to Mount of Olympus her whole life changes. She must get used to the fact that other students will be more like her here. Not everyone is smart, some are simply the controls of an element, (Poseidon.)
Zeus the headmaster of Olympus, announces a science fair. Some of Athena's ideas aren't flawless however. One of here inventions turn Medusa's hair to snakes! Snakes that turn any mortal to stone. When Medusa changes poor Pandora into a stone carving of a girl Athena is put to the task of changing her back. Can Athena make such an antidote? After just arriving at MOA?

All of the Above By Shelley Pearsall

The Mr.Collins we meet at the beginning of this book is stern, loud and frustrated. Why? Simply because when you work at a school where no one in your entire math class tries, then your passion for teaching slowly leaks out of you. One afternoon Collins can't take it anymore, so he makes a proposal to his class.
His proposal was a risk. It could turn around every ones attitude and bring everyone together. Mr.Collins tells the class that he is starting a math club. All students are invited to come after school. The first few meeting consist of only a few kids. What will they be doing? Collins has cleverly put together a group to help him build a tetrahedron. A tetrahedron is a triangular pyramid. Carefully put together, a tetrahedron adds one pyramid to each side in each new layer.
The different kids that have been brought together would surely start a fight. Collins is very careful with supervision, but when someone breaks the large half-built pyramid, enough supervision wasn't given. Will all the kids come back together and rebuild the math statue? If they do accomplish this then they could all be in the world record book. What do you do when everyone has given up hope all hope in you?
